The Comparable Effect of tDCS and Core Exercises on Balance and Mobility in Patients With Multiple Sclerosis

Objectives: As a major feature of the disease, motor-related complications, including loss balance and reduced ability to walk were seen in multiple sclerosis (MS). The purpose this study was investigate effect core stability exercises transcranial direct-current stimulation (tDCS) as non-invasive brain on balance, walking capacity, quality life patients with MS. Methods: In randomized clinical trial pretest-posttest design, 29 female an Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) less than 4.5 (3.75±1.31) mean age 38.36±7.99 years purposefully selected from referring MS society Tehran during 2021 then randomly assigned following three groups: exercises, anodal tDCS, sham. Variables, such measured before after interventions. Subjects training group participated for weeks, subjects both sham tDCS groups received direct electrical five sessions. Results: A significant improvement capacity (P<0.05). Moreover, mobility significantly changed However, no difference between groups. Discussion: Our findings indicate comparable effects Therefore, addition can be considered promising tool neurorehabilitation
